CDP is a not-for-profit charity that provides a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to disclose their environmental impact. Companies have to answer an annual questionnaire about their environmental impact and actions taken to reduce them
Who is eligible for CDP?
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) doesn't have a single category of eligible participants. Instead, it focuses on three main areas: companies, cities, and states/regions.
Companies:
- Publicly traded companies: Most large, publicly traded companies around the world are encouraged to participate in CDP.
- Large private companies: While not mandatory, many large private companies also choose to participate in CDP to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability.
- Companies by supply chain request: Some companies might be encouraged to participate in CDP if a major client or investor requires them to disclose their environmental data.
